Hello everyone. My name is Alex. I'm new to ROV's, but i would like to join your team and learn more (theoretical and practical) about them. My current project is a ROV that can reach at least 700 ft (213m). I have acquired the first parts to built the main body and my tether wire (stranded telephone cable).
My first question is: how deep has ever reached a homebuilt ROV? I have been searching on net for a while, but i didn't manage to find an answer.
Many thanks for all you that created and support this forum!!!

@jason howard: I saw that footage today and i'm absolutely impressed from that depth. BTW, i'm still trying to finish my own design (awaiting props and a color camera from Ebay).
