500 gph Johnson bilge pump mount

Post by Mgbss »

Well finally back at this project I am using the 500 gph cartridges andI made a mount from 2 inch PVC pipe a coupler I will try to post pics.

Anyway the 2" pvc fits the back of the cartridge up to the little flange if you cut 2 slots 5/8" deep for the wings. Next machine the stop inside of the 2" PVC coupler to the Diameter of the cartridge. On the Cartridge use a dremmel and remove the 1/16" lip (biggest diam of the cartridge) up to the 2 wings. slide catridge into coupler and mark for the slot for the wings. After you have done the above you can slide the coupler over the cartridge and onto the 2" PVC pipe at this point it is enclosed holding the cartridge firm. You could glue this together or just put screws in it to hold the works together.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense, hopefully pics load up if not I will get some measurements

That looks pretty good.
You have a nice clean-looking design going there....I like it!
Where did you get that dome?

I bought the same set of plans ages ago. I think a lot of folks have bought them and then use some of the information and then discover this forum before they start their builds.

Yes those are the ones probably been 3- 4 years ago that I bought them.

As far as the build mine will be a lot like the ones in the plans, very simple
