oil filled brushed motors

I'm designing thrusters for my rov and i'm gonna be using brushed motors for now, either bilge pumps or I'll use regular motors in my own housing. Does anyone have an idea of the life expectancy of a brushed motor in an oil filled pressure compensated housing? I'd like to use brushless motors but programing an arduino is a little beyond me right now. Also, since the thrusters will be pressure compensated, woulld a simple oring suffice for the shaft seal? If not, what would be a good shaft seal? Thanks!

Hi merbass. Would not like to guess on the brush/oil question, but would suggest you consider brushless with ESC and a "servo tester" in place of Arduino or other microcontroller if you want to put your efforts into aspects other than programming.

Also, others on the forum are talking about or using the training link (wired connection ) between RC transmitter and receiver. Have a look at that too. Radios are so cheap these days that you could do it cheaper and simpler that way. For seals, just do some more internet searching
