Props facing front or rear?

Post by Lost Bob »

Should the props on the 2 horizontal thrusters be facing front, pulling the rov forward, or facing backwards pushing the the rov forward? My thrusters will be brushless with counter rotating props, esc controlled.
My vertical thrusters will have their counter rotating props on top, rather than bottom to avoid kicking up debris.
Thanks

Pushing the ROV forward would be the best approach. Props in general are designed for maximum propulsion in a foward direction.

Also, the motors themselves can block some of the thrust, or at least divert it in a less desirable direction.
