Brushed Motor recommendations

I want to power my ROV with props. I know I can use a bilge pump cartridge but I think I can save money using a potted and sealed brushed motor. I realize saving money might mean more headaches so I'm also looking for advice. The ROV will be around PVC 24L 11W 8H so not very big. This is my first ROV I want to keep it simple. Thrust On/Off - forward/reverse. Most likely I'll be running a 50mm-60mm prop. Any recommendations on where to buy a good brushed electric motor or should I just stick with bilge pump motors and props. Thanks in advance for your help.

Im looking into the same thing right now, more specifically the older rs 540 r/c motors. The problem becomes in the speed which they turn verses the psi/fpm the seal can handle. Basically im looking into gearing down the r/c car motors and then going to a larger prop to get the thrust up. Then pack it into a 2" housing that does not require being oil filled. The motors are cheap and readily available, but the housings are 100% custom. Ill post what I come up with once I get it all worked out. Then again, cordless screwdrivers have good low rpm torque too......

I searched the internet today and found very reasonable Johnson bilge pump cartridges at Wholesale Marine. There shipping charges are very reasonable too less than $10 for 6 motors. My students are building 2 ROV's. I think I will go this route. I like the Johnson pump cartridge because it is streamlined and has a bracket that can be a motor mount. By the time I make or by a seal, housing and motor mount for an $8-$12 brushed motor I will end up spending more than the Johnson bilge pump cartridges.
