Hi guys, what gauge of wire would i need to power my Rule bilge pumps with a 100 meter tether? Will be using a 12v truck battery, and 6 motors.
Cheers

Wire gauge for 100 meter tether?
Re: Wire gauge for 100 meter tether?
The wire size of your tether is directly related to the tether voltage and current draw.
With a 300 foot tether using 14 gauge wire powered from a battery, you will only have 6 volts at the ROV with a 4 amp draw.
Check out this voltage drop calculator. http://www.nooutage.com/vdrop.htm
You will find a shorter tether closer to 100 foot will give you a higher voltage at the ROV.
The bigger the wire gauge, the heavier the tether will be.
