hello all,
i am a recreational diver on the weekends and do a little technical diving with my employer. diving during the winter has been a pain lately and i want to avoid it as much as possible. mostly what i do is inspect hulls and drive equipment. now this is where the rov comes into play.
as for right now i want to build an rov to do my job and i stay dry. i have 2 main designs in mind. first, a tie fighter type. two main cylinders parallel 8 to 10 inches apart, one acrylic one pvc, extending outward to the frame. if you look at it from the top it resembles a ladder rung. second design is on big pvc cylinder for the main housing with two legs extending from the housing at 45 degree angles from center with weight in them.
i plan on having a camera with a pan tilt, lights, and three thrusters. everything will be 12v coming to a main contol panel. a dry box pelican type with the monitor in the lid and controls on the bottom. simple and easy??? either way i am ready for the challenge. i do understand that it will take me some time to complete this project and wont use it in cold water until next year but i still would have many uses for it.
thanks for the help guys i look forward to your input
