fiveoversp, that's a very interesting looking rig. It'd be nice to hear more about it.

Having no idea what FPV means, I googled around a little. The FAQs at FPVpilot.com say, "FPV is short for First Person View and/or First Person Video." Apparently, it refers to operating a flying vehicle using a wireless video system. The pilot flies the vehicle using an onboard video camera, reporting in real time.

Of course, this is the normal way to operate ROVs, except the video arrives via the tether cable instead of wireless. Or do you have some other meaning?

Thanks, Iwill tether in the normal way(control, video)I may be wrong, because the electronice will be the hardest part for me. I am OK with plug&play but this looks like a few steps beyond that. Im thinking simple on/off like DPDT relays, forward/reverse/up/down, independent left, right for turning (tractor drive) with johnson pump cartridges with propellers. Full onboard power with two 12v AGM batts. L.E.D. lighting, camera tilt up/down.I have an old Heathkit 5channel radio, to convert to hard wire, maybe through the 10 channel,2wire remote control kit, still researching that at present. if im off base with this Please let me know, nice forum, learning a lot

It looks like that heathkit radio uses potentionmeters in the joysticks, so you may have a little trouble hooking it up to that 10 channel over two wires kit.

Welcome to the forum and good luck!

wow, that is an old radio!

I wonder if it is worth anything on ebay or rcgroups. it may make more sense to sell it and use the profits to pay for a modern radio!

I love your frame. I'd like to be able to fabricate my own components like you have done, but I don't have the tools. nice work!
