Below are some pictures of my custom LED design. I had quite a few super bright white 5mm LEDs lying around and designed a simple circuit board for them which fits snuggly in 1" PVC. The bottom photo shows how I extended the leads through (and soldered to) an identical PCB to give the fixture a bit of stability inside the pipe.
I'm going to have two of these lights on my ROV and they should provide ample light and are only drawing 230mA (for both lights) off a 5V circuit.
The purple PCBs were made by Laen's Dorkbot service which I highly recommend: http://dorkbotpdx.org/wiki/pcb_order

My custom LED lights
Re: My custom LED lights
I really like the LED Circuit Board, I am guessing the light shall have a screen over it?

In the first picture there is a piece of 5.6mm lexan sandwiched against the o-ring using this method http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/howtosimplehousing1.htmlAHarris wrote:I really like the LED Circuit Board, I am guessing the light shall have a screen over it?

Oh sorry, didn't notice it. I can see it now, very clean

Nice looking lights.
How did you get the power wires out of the housing? Did you pot the wires or use a connector of some sort?
