WARNING, not all DSC radio's will work!

I have found out that the direct servo control (DSC) does not work on Spektrum 2.4GHz rc radios, it is labeled DSC, but only functions as a trainer connection to another radio. MY local hobby shop called Horizon Hobbies they told them it is mislabeled, its a trainer port only. My JR radio with fm transmitter works fine. Be careful what you buy..

it is unfortunate that they labeled the trainer port dsc on the spektrum stuff. 2.4 ghz radios don't need a dsc port because the tx and rx are bound together and don't interfere with other radios.

however the ppm signal that you are looking for should still come out the dsc port on the dx7 (you may have to enable the trainer port). I don't know if your older fm rx can deal with it, though. however something like an arduino could.

When you plug in the DSC on spektrum it puts the Rx into bind mode, but my JR fm radio works great down 200ft of cat5 on one twisted pair. I think next weekend ill see how far it will go,3,4,500ft. I would like to know .

I meant try using the jr rx with the dx7. forget about the spektrum rx.
