Hello,

We are a group of mechanical engineering seniors participating in a Capstone Design project involving the creation of a self contained ROV exhibit for the subsea industry. The exhibit is intended to spread awareness of subsea engineering challenges and technology for precollege students. The exhibit, which has been named SEATIGER (Subsea Exhibit Able To Integrate Grade-level Expectations with ROVs), will be designed until Christmas and then manufactured from January until May. We intend to enable students to perform simulated subsea operations while learning and utilizing basic engineering skill sets. Our budget is $15,000.

We have already thoroughly examined "Build Your Own ROV and Other Wet Projects" and various other sources for inspiration, but any help or direction is appreciated. Expect to see several posts over the coming months from us. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum,

The writers of "Build Your Own ROV and Other Wet Projects" also have a new (I'll call it "Text Book" because that's how thick it is) called "Underwater Robotics: Science, Design & Fabrication" It's a little pricey compared to the last book though...

That's great! I wish I would have found this sooner. It is pricey, but I think I'll invest in it if i can't find a cheap used copy or check it out from a library. It looks worth the change.
