Round hull mounting problem

Ok as you know if you saw my post in the "Your ROV Projects" section, we plan on use jet propulsion in our ROV, our current problem is that we need to have the pump and valves on the outside of our hull (what with the pressurized water and all that) but we're using a 4" PVC pipe to house most of our components but it's well, round.
So we need some way of making a flat surface to mount our stuff on, and the only idea we can come up with is some sort of box thing which I have no idea how to explain so here's a (MSPaint) drawing.

What I can't figure out is what to make it out of, how to make it and how to attach it to the hull, so basically, everything.
Any thoughts? Any alternative ideas?

Our project (still in design phase) is bolting our round pieces to
http://www.eztube.com/ filled with mineral oil, and using that to mount our motors

quick fix: make 4holes, one in each corner of the sqare bracket. buy 2 large hose clamps and install them through the holes and around the cylinder

Superarp, how are you preventing leaks though the bolt holes? And what is the advantage of filling your tubes with oil?

Emm? perhaps i didnt understand the question?
isn't the cylinder the oil container, and the square thingy a mounting bracket of some sort?
If so, dont make any holds in the cylinder. just clamp it to the bracket with hose clamps.

We are preventing leaks through the bolt holes using rubber o-rings. However if boyancy is not a problem for you (it is for us as our sub is made of aluminum and conventional boyancy chambers will crush at the depths we are aiming for) you could just actually drill holes in the easytube, making it a wet frame so that it still works for mounting electronics, and use an O-ring for the pipe.

Instead of putting bolt holes through your pressure hull and using O rings, why not epoxy the bolt heads to the outer hull, or on the inside of the hull and make mounting studs. Studs give you more clamping force anyway. If you epoxied the bolt heads to the outside of the hull you eliminate the problem of sealing, and your not compromising the strength of your pressure hull. :mrgreen:
