I was wondering if anyone was using this electronics package ?

Comes with a HD lowlight camera and control boards, all the coding is done and you can configure it to suit your ROV.

Any thoughts guys ?

So I didn't purchase this as a package but did end up assembling it piecemeal over time. There are a lot of positives from it, but it isn't cheap, though not unreasonable for what you get. The question comes down to whether it's overkill for your application or not.

Pros
Pixhawk adds a lot of controllability - ROV drives like it's on rails
Fathom-X boards can communicate over only two wires - tether can be very small
Lots of flexibility within the configuration and more being added on a regular basis

Cons
$$$
Requires a PC topside
Heat - temp in the WTC sits around 125*F when in the water

With control systems (and nearly every other aspect of ROV building), it goes like this:

I purchased the complete electronics package and have been very happy with it.

I am actually using it with six of the BR Blue Esc Thrusters so there are no ESCs in the WTC.

Internal temperature in the WTC when operating on the bench is around 50 deg C.

To have lower-cost ESC's in the WTC you could press the ESC's heatsinks against the side of the WTC (if your WTC is aluminum pipe like mine).

Put some thin thermal compound sheet between the ESC's heatsink and the aluminum tube for electrical isolation.

The cold outside water keeps the ESC's very cool.

You are replying to a post from 2013 so I'm not sure you'll get a reply!
Having looked at the Blue Robotics thrusters it seems that currently they don't produce thrusters with ESCs inside the thruster. They only provide the thruster, the ESC, or a bundled package containing both items.

Yeah IIRC, BR did away with that configuration due to it doubling the cable penetrators required and waterproofing concerns in the thrusters
