Homebuilt ROVs Forum

Hello everyone,

I've been searching for a way to build my own ROV, since for some reason I just can't take my mask off during the Open Water dive tests, in the pool no problem. Go figure

So the all mighty Google has lead me here.

The main reason I would like to build a ROV is that I would like to join my Uncle on his dives (no Nathan Fillion is not my uncle).

My uncle is an diver photographer, some of his photos have even been published in a few magazines https://www.flickr.com/people/roncasual/

Some things I would like to include is the ability to take readings with various sensors, including a geiger counter with the ability to recors and overlay the info on screen.

On a side note, anyone else in Vancouver British Columbia Canada doing this ?

BTW, I am a dive instructor and I still hate that skill, there seems to be always some water in left in my eyes.

I'm building one, Retro-Retrofit Seafox, and i'm planing on using it off of wharfs and docks on Burrard Inlet and False Creek.
What's the geiger counter for?

I think it would be an interesting sensor to get more details about the local waters and the environment around the GVA.
