I've ordered one just to try it out. Supposedly it comes with:

A 10m usb cable
VGA output 640x480
has 4 LED's
66 degree field of view
Waterproof - Although I'm putting it in a waterproof tube
Come with a CD for video translation
$29.00

I would suspect the depth of field would be limited but I saw some video from it and it seemed to be able to 'see' across a lighted room.
I'm thinking I can extend the cable out to 20 - 30 meters.

Also used in drain pipe applications.

Anyone?

Maybe USB over Ethernet to extend the range?

I'll check it out and let you know. I believe it works off the USB 5v.

Just bought an adjustable 5v - 35v up converter (saves me having to build it) in case the IR drop in the cable causes problems. It was only $3 so we will see.

I could breakout the USB 5v line and take it to a separate supply in the event I need more than 1 amp.
