I,m looking for advice. I,ve no previous experience of electronics but despite that, i saw this site and decided to attempt building an ROV . I do a lot o fishing and i want a very basic rov that will be able to spot fish and structure in lakes and rivers. I am on a tight budget so how much am i looking at to start off. My eldest son works in electronics so i,m hoping he,ll be able to help me out if i have problems( which i,m sure i will). Any advice much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. I would suggest you look at some of the ROV information on the main website http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/ Steve has posted a lot of good info on building an ROV, and there is a ton of info on the forums.

The cost of your first ROV can be a couple hundred dollars to several thousand dollars depending on the complexity of your build. Also look at ROV in a box for a complete beginners ROV http://nventivity.com/ROVIAB.html

Good luck, let us know how your build goes.
