Velleman K8023 with microcontroller

how would one go about connecting a Velleman K8023 with micro controller ?

According to the velleman website the micro controller uses a custom developed serial protocol.

You would have to reverse engineer it to identify the protocol.

Either that, or you could connect the inputs/outputs of the vellman module to the inputs/outputs of your microcontroller. It wouldn't be as pretty, but it would work.
