FSK modulation to transmit further
Hi guys, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to transmit digital signal through the tether using FSK modulation . This would allow fewer distortions and reflections in the wire. And in consequence this should allow further distances There are some cool modules that can already make the modula...

Re: U-DRONE Amethyst AUV Platform
here is the progress. So you all advise me to buy blue robotics 3'' series enclosure? I live in europe so the shipping will cost me... This is the kit I am thing to buy. Maybe the cylinder a bit shorter. https://bluerobotics.com/store/watertight-enclosures/3-series/wte3-asm-r1/ E1BC054D-BD31-490C-87...

Re: Problems Arduino Nano V3 and MAX485 no clear connection
Why dont you use the UART serial comunication already implemented in arduino? You can use seial.write and serial.read comands to comunicate between two arduinos. Of course if you want a really fast and relliable transmission you will have to think in using syncronous comunication and not asyncronous...

Pressurize acrylic cylinder dinamically
Hi, I just realized that the problem of objects imploding underwater is the difference in pressure . If I could measure water pressure outside the rov and air pressure inside the rov I could make a system that with a gas can it pressurizes the cylinder , then when going up I could put a valve or a p...

Re: U-DRONE Amethyst AUV Platform
In the quick tests I did 3D printed caps (even printed at 100% infill) will not be waterproof at depth. I would go with a ready made enclosure like you linked especially if you have some money wrapped up in the electronics. -Steve :sting: Thankyou. Yes thats my same thought. Just to go cheap but ha...

Re: Introduction AUV project and already finished ROVs
Well, if you are using the Fathom X boards for comms, 26 gauge speaker wire wound into 3-strand yellow poly rope will work as a tether. Use a drill to twist the speaker wire first, as twisted wire rejects EMI. 3-D printing is a very useful technology, but don't get fixated on it. Why print a tube t...

Re: Introduction AUV project and already finished ROVs
ThankYou both! As soon as the project will make some progress I will make an update. I will probably will need some help with the ballast(yes I want to make a balalst) and for the remote controlling part. The first tests will be made with a tether. Is a normal ethernet cable enough or is it better t...
