Does it make sense to use SCH80 flanges and gaskets as end-caps for PVC pipe watertight compartments?
I am looking at cementing this to the end of the pipe, putting on a gasket, and then tightening down a piece of 1/4" plexiglas.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Re: 3D printing flange for the end of PVC pipe
I knew that PLA wasn't exactly solid, but I was hoping that coating it in (read: dunking it in) epoxy would have been sufficient. I am not going to pay for 3D printing services, particularly for unknown materials. I keep going back and forth with threaded PVC fittings, gaskets and flat end caps with...

Re: 3D printing flange for the end of PVC pipe
Thanks for the reply. So the issue isn't the epoxy/PVC interface, but the PLA itself? OK, so then what I might wind up doing is using flanges from plumbing supply house, similar to: https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/851-040-4-schedule-80-pvc-flange.html and cutting acrylic to seal it up with bolts a...

3D printing flange for the end of PVC pipe
I am thinking of 3D printing a flange for 4" PVC pipe that will allow me to secure a piece of acrylic. 100% fill, using PLA. I will probably use a smoothing compound to get the piece as smooth as possible. The pipe-facing side would have a deep groove that will be partially-filled with marine e...

Re: What type of control systems are you using?
Thanks for the response. I am not overly concerned about the coding, merely the techniques that make the most sense in the real world. As of right now, the vertical thruster would controlled by a DPDT switch: one way is up, other is down, with no chance of up and down being commanded simultaneously....

What type of control systems are you using?
My ROV will have a pair of port/starboard thrusters and a single vertical thruster. I have a pair of Arduinos which command Pololu Trex motor controllers. What I am pondering most now is what the control system should look like. As I see it, I can use a pair of joysticks to make a sort of skid-steer...
