Shouldn't he stay with multi-strand wire for DC?
As long as he strips the insulation off for a half-inch or so, and thins the epoxy resin with denatured alcohol, it should flow right in.
I haven't had any problems so far...

Re: VRLA battery on board
Yes. Being a sealed lead-acid, 'valve-regulated' battery, it might emit a tiny amount of hydrogen when being charged, but not when being used. I have a few and thought of using them, but the rectangular shape makes them undesirable to me. I am a strong believer in onboard battery power, versus power...

Re: Specific Transmitter Sticks
As for the servo tester, It has three functions, selected by a slide switch on the side (if you get the right one). One of the functions, 'manual', moves the servo as you move the potentiometer on the servo tester. The pot is the same type as is used on joysticks and can be bypassed and the leads ho...

Re: Specific Transmitter Sticks
For transmitter sticks i believe most can be modified easily by disassembling the Tx and unhooking the return spring, allowing you to position the stick and not have it spring back to center. For the potentiometer control would a servo tester work for you? They can be had off ebay for $3 US or so. L...

Re: Dimension motor for underwater drone
I was going to type a short reply but it turned into more of a primer on Do's and Dont's...lol. Three blades on the prop work better than two. Props with symmetrical blades work better than boat prop style because boat props are designed to be most efficient going forwards, while ROV's run their thr...

Re: Nautisub Build
Try https://batteryhookup.com/ for good used 18650's, and get a BMS from ebay.
I would never try and power my ROV from the surface.

Re: Australian Newbie stranded in Paradise (Bali)
Are you stuck in Bali because Australia won't let you back in? How is Bali handling the extension of tourist visas? When you say "self-funded", are you diving for pleasure or surveying wrecks for a local interest? Sounds like a great place to get stuck...lol. Wish i were there. Not looking...

Re: camera/cable/monitor connection!!
Any wire will suffice, like stranded speaker wire, or more preferably twisted pair wires like in Cat5. Video baluns should be used over a long wire run to insure good clear video, perhaps not needed over short wires. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JYZ8Y76/ref=dp_prsubs_2 The connectors are probably NO...

Re: U-DRONE Amethyst AUV Platform
I use a circle of plastic cut from a gallon ice cream container, make small notches to hold the wires apart,. You can coat each stripped section, then bundle them together in the penetrator and pot them.
