Re: Negative buoyancy

I wonder if you could put something on the bottom of your ROV to help you 'hold the bottom' in addition to being slightly negatively buoyant. Maybe some pointed legs that you cold kind of jam into the silt or mud using the down thruster and then wait for the silt to clear. You might even shape it s...

Re: Negative buoyancy

Thanks I like your input on this matter! My idea is that the ROV is as near neutral buoyancy as you can get but when you let go of the thruster it will drop very slow to the bottom. ...My interface will have an 'offset' or 'zero out' function that will allow you to dial in some thrust from the verti...

Re: Negative buoyancy

Thanks for your input. The idea of having a ballast that can be dropped in case of emergency has crossed my mind. I assume that the magnetic coupling is powered as long as everything is ok. Also if there is power failure, the ballast will drop automatically. Besides that, will the ROV be harder to m...

Negative buoyancy

Hi there,

My main goal with my ROV is to be able to get god stable footage of the marine life. Most of it on the bottom. To achieve that I want to park the ROV on the bottom. Does anyone here have any experience of using a ROV that is slightly negative buoyant?

Re: Hi from Sweden

Hi Kale, I like that camera, but I want to try to avoid any noise from other electronics in the sub so am looking at This one on Hobby king. I'm not a camera guy so it may be very inferior to what you're looking at, but it fits the pan and tilt frames and also does the recording in house. That at l...

Re: Hi from Sweden

Wow! great 'pod' how deep have you used it? Also is it positive buoyant in water? What kind type of camera did you use (& will it be the same in the Rov?) Nice to have you around by the way. Regards <>< Hi guys and thanks! It's more than ten years since I used the housing. It was originally con...

Ok, better safe than sorry. I will use two ESC.

Thanks!

Hi from Sweden

Hi there, I'm Magnus AKA Kale from the southern part of Sweden. I have been scuba diving for many years now and I have carried out a lot of video filming under water. My father helped me building my first video housing many years ago (He is not with us anymore). The housing is made of stainless stee...

Two brushless outrunners parallell on one ESC

I want to use two up/down thrusters. Can I connect them together assuming the ESC can deliver the current needed.
