Re: BNC to USB
I've had success over 500' of cat5e tether with this product. It's got a kinda gross software that comes with it, but it seems to work.

Re: Waterproofing batteries
Sorry to triple post, but unless I'm mistaken, LiPos are pretty well sealed. The only areas I'd think you have to worry about are where the leads connect to the batter. Water proof that and you should be fine (I would think). Also things like plastidip and liquid electrical tape look like a good way...

Re: Waterproofing batteries
Also, when I say fairly flexible, I meant very flexible. Like taking a very wide diameter piece of shrink tube and sealing a battery inside of it.

Re: Waterproofing batteries
Well, I suppose I've thought of having a housing that is filled with oil and then sealed. But as of right now, I was thinking of using a Tupperware container and filling it with silicon, and mounting it too my frame. Thinking about it now, the oil idea seems the best route. Though I have no idea how...

Plumbers tape. Put quite a bit on, the more the merrier. And then make sure it's tightened all they way down.

I realize old, but I use Autodesk Inventor Exclusively, I've played with Solidworks a bit but I like the feel of Inventor better. If ever you have any questions about it feel free to PM me. The thing I really like about inventor is how easy it is to assemble things. I know you can do it in Solidwork...

Re: The SeaFlea
Just to be clear, the props do spin when it's under water? I was having a similar issue in my thrust tank. It seemed that at higher RPMs the the resistance of the water would actually cause the prop to come loose. I have a notch in my props, so I had them sit on a wing nut. Seemed to fix my issue. H...

Re: D-ROV
Thanks! As of now, I have very, very little experience with the Arduino, so anything I figure out I'll post here. And for my camera I had purchased the one I linked to, but I think it might be defective. It's either the camera or my BNC to USB adapter(http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Channel-BNC-To-USB-Con...

Re: D-ROV
So after this year of inactivity, I've finally gotten back into the project. My plan is to use four 700 kv bell-type brushless motors, corresponding 30 Amp car ESCs, two Arduino Uno's (one on the surface and one on-board), a PS2 Shield/controller, and two RS485 shields. For display I'm using a 700 T...

Waterproofing batteries
Hi there, I have an Idea for a deep diving ROV <=600' and I wanted to waterproof my batteries. The catch is that I want to use my Lipo-batteries as ballast, locating them outside my main housing. My idea is to take a fairly a flexible tube, slide the battery into it, and fill each end with silicon c...
