Re: ROV for Dive Team

OK I know that I want batteries onboard and a simple switch box (no laptop) control. I will get some Cat-5 and with the phone wire I should have more than enough wires to get the job done.
Thanks!

Re: ROV for Dive Team

Thanks Ross! So first you'd go with two vertical thrusters? I thought about the dome too. I want to get it eventually (may need room to upgrade things, and they just look SO cool!) but won't need it to get this going so you are right about that. Can I get enough from two phone cables to control the ...

Re: ROV for Dive Team

OK so I've made a few decisions that I hope will move this along. I made the skids over the weekend. Next I'll make a front piece that will hold a scuba depth gauge and compass. She's solid and watertight. 2) Years ag...

Re: Looking for recommendations.

Thank you for the article. Current is a factor, bit not a constant problem. Usually things don't tend to settle where there is a strong current. Last night I realized that my old diy video housing would make a perfect vessel for batteries and the camera. It's 6" pvc and about 9" long with ...

Looking for recommendations.

Hi! Our Dive Rescue Team needs an ROV and I want to build a basic unit so I'm looking for my best course of action. It will be used in local lakes and ponds (usually dark, turbid water) and sometimes in the Delaware River. I realize that the current will be a factor. Our SOP's dictate that we don't ...

Hello from Northeast PA

My name is Harrison and I'm Captain of Forest Vol. Fire\Rescue Dive Team. An ROV would benefit us greatly in many ways. I look forward to being a member on the forum and sharing information.
