Re: RC transmission through tether
I basically used the plans I purchased for the same reason. Since then I have decide to do everything from scratch and build as I go. Please keep me posted to how it goes with your test. I am still gathering parts and pieces for my build so nothing yet is carved in stone for the final design. Anthony

Re: RC transmission through tether
This is quite ironic, I purchased the same design plans a while back when I first decide to build an ROV, downloadable PDF file. It was only while researching deeper into RC controller options did I find mention about lost signal issues due to the nature of antennas and how they work. Might be ok on...

Wanted Information for Curtis PMC
Hi all, I was out shopping for parts and pieces for my build today and visited the local military surplus outfit. You just never know what treasures might be lying around. Anyway I spotted this small box on a shelf amongst a heap of various electronic stuff and when I opened it discovered a CURTIS P...

Re: RC transmission through tether
Hi guys, just a thought from other information I have read. I am no expert but at least I can pass on what I have read about this. Using an RC system to transmit a signal on a conductor i.e. CAT5 in principle one would think it would work well. But there may be an inherent issue that comes to mind. ...

Re: Brushless Motor
Hi Okkaby, I gather this is a generic question regarding DC brushless motors? I did not see a link or image to know exactly what you are reffering to. In any case from all the literature I have read about DC motors, brushed and brushless, you can run them in both fresh and salt water. The key would ...

Gordon Duncan may not be MIA. I did manage to contact him yesterday and here is the response. "The boards will be re manufactured in three months time they also have a light controller board, Take care and best regards, G. Duncan." Has anyone on the forums used the ROV Asia setup? Anthony

Re: perspex domes
Hi Mike, the link below is where I purchased my dome and you can pretty much configure what you need from diameter, dome depth, material thickness and flange width.
http://www.cleardome.com/smalldomes.htm
Very good prices in my opinion and far stronger than the standard CCTV dome.

Re: Looking for an easy way to control my ROV
Hi again Dave, you can't get any simpiler than to use DPDT (double pole double throw ) momentary switches. They are inexpensive and can be bought anywhere. Using them you can have full control forward and reverse up and down. Like these http://www.ebay.ca/itm/6-Pin-Toggle-DPDT-ON-OFF-ON-Momentary-Sw...
