Magnetic couplings= next step to deeper dives for DIY ROVs?

Magnetic Disc Couplings for an hermetically closed motor housing to avoid leakage in higher depth starting at 1.72 inch. the torque is also not from bad parents for a disc coupling starting 33$ each.. I use 1 N torque for a 225W brushless motor. Also for my gripper I am thinking to use them as it sa...

They are my favorites, beside many model parts also a heap of electronic stuff. The parcels were in Thailand 4 days after ordering, so speed is no magic with them.

is the page you want to look at because many people introduce their ROV including some explanations how to build. Good guideline for the start. The stinger steve mentioned is also there.
Good Luck

Re: Batteries venting & Waterproof Hull

I will use gel batteries and for the safety I have connected all tanks (motor housings, Controller tank, lights) just all hermetic boxes with hoses together (where the cables are going through), so i have more volume and beside also a cooling circulation for the motors (even brush less need not much...

Re: Control System Help

I recommend to do some homework by watching the videos they provide here. Travis is a great guy explaining things, he would make a good teacher. They have also some trial programs to play with.. Was enough info that I could copy all boards I needed that they look same as the offered ones but just 30...

Re: deep ROV

WOW. First I thought by myself that Props are huge, then I saw your water test and it looks that the Motor just makes a fountain with that props. I bet that ROV will be pushed down like a rock.. BTW I want to reach almost 500' as well (100m) and after I have seen your pics I can't wait that my parts...

Singlemode 4 fiber optic Tether

Hi all, For min 100m dives I have seen that Ethernet cable becomes quite expensive, so I got some 150m Single mode Fiber Optic cable, unfortunately I wasn't aware its also a penny-wise saving (a mtr of FO cable is just 33THB= rough 1$) BUT then the Fiber Optic RS232 converter was hitting the top. I ...
