Thanks!!! On second thought it looks like I may end up using a composite video camera - but can I still send an RCA feed over the same wire using RCA baluns???

Hi!!! I'm an electronics newb who is looking to build an ROV. I wanted to use an ethernet (CAT5) cable for a tether and an ethernet camera i have for a camera, and an arduino with ethernet shield to do control Does anyone know if i can both communicate with the arduino and have a feed from the camer...

Personally, I never waterproof servos. Though i havent quite finished my ROV yet, the RC battleship leauge that I do regularly has ships flood and sink. Just thro w them in mineral oil before and after and drill small holes in teh plastic case and itll work fine.

The problem that we face with PVC is that it's round. Seeing as we have the machine shop capabilites of robotics team (really the same people), I think we will go with aluminum. Thanks though!!!

We are preventing leaks through the bolt holes using rubber o-rings. However if boyancy is not a problem for you (it is for us as our sub is made of aluminum and conventional boyancy chambers will crush at the depths we are aiming for) you could just actually drill holes in the easytube, making it a...

Our project (still in design phase) is bolting our round pieces to http://www.eztube.com/ filled with mineral oil, and using that to mount our motors
