Spooling Tether

On average, how much tether (depth) are you actually spooling out?
Thanks

I try only to spool out enough to just give the Rov a little slack so it can move freely. If you spool out to much and your cable isn't exactly neutral buoyant the extra tether will just drag it down, not to mention that the Rov has to pull that much more around.
