What is the wattage of lights required for LEDs to travel in 50m of water? I have no idea about this since I am designing my first ROV. And will LEDs work better or the flourescent or halogen lights?

I doubt anyone can answer that question. It depends on the turbidity of the water (suspended solids) and the higher the NTU's the less light will penitrate and more light could be reflected back twards you making high power lights at times less desireable than a low power light.
