Velleman K8023 Power Supply

Post by Aero »

Hi all,

According to the Velleman K8023 manual, it needs 12V/300mA to operate. I was just wondering what kind of power source I should use to power that. Would a 12V car battery fry it? I'm just worried about supplying too much current and breaking it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can use a car battery, 12v 300mA means that you need a power supply that is able to deliver 300mA. It can be a good idea to use a 500mA fuse.

So if I understand this correctly, the board will draw exactly the 300mA it needs, regardless of the source? (providing the source can provide that much current, eg. the car battery)
