best way to hold cables together/Join tether?
Hey all,
I am really stuck:
I have 4 cables (AV (not using A), ethernet, positive and negative leads) which are all part of my tether. Its 100'. I need to figure out the best way to join all those cables together... any thoughts? I was thinking zip ties every 6inches to a foot, but i guess that would turn out un neat and get caught everywhere... is there some sort of sleeve or something? Thanks.

I used sticky tape every feet to hold three ethernet cables together. I don't know the english word, but it's the kind of tape used by an electrician.

It has hold for three hours diving in salt water so far.

I used cable braiding to hold my cables together, it seems to work well.

I've done the braiding thing before. It helps if you have as many people as you have wires
Re: best way to hold cables together/Join tether?
Yeah I can attest that cable braiding or spiral wrap takes a long time to do, it adds weight too. You can always try hollow core poly rope and feed the wires through it, I'm using this method on my new Rov, it took a little while too but it was easier than the spiral wrap I used in the past.
Not sure how it will act in the water as it makes for a bit thicker tether but at least it doesn't add weight because the rope itself floats. (no enough to float the wires though)

I was actually looking at this:
http://www.cableorganizer.com/braided-sleeving/
not the wrap around. Would this be utterly impossible to do over 100' worth of tether?

I've used similar stuff on my seafox it works pretty good and is not to hard to feed the wires through.
