IR glare

I have IR on my camera that comes on in low light but it gives a glare of the lens that's in front of the camera so I have a ring of lights in my video. Anyway to stop the glare back ?

IR does not work well under water as the water acts as an IR cut filter.
So I would disconnect the IR LEDS.
Or you can fit an IR cut filter direct on the camera lens.
I have a ring of white LEDS around my camera and had to make a hood around the lens that goes all the way to the acrylic dome to prevent reflections.

can you post a pic of your camera and front window of your ROV?

I was thinking I'd have to black out the ir.
With the lights on the ir shuts off but I don't know how it'll react under water. I think my lights will be plenty bright enough

Thinking more about this... I have an outdoor webcam with IR LEDs that come on when it's dark, I found the colour to be very purple in daylight as there was no IR cut filter so I added one and disabled the IR LEDs in the camera settings. ( I use it as a weather webcam so wasn't bothered about seeing in the dark).
Underwater is a different matter though as I said the water acts as an IR filter so you don't want to add another.
If you can't disable the LEDs in settings then I'd either open up the camera and carefully de-solder the LEDs or like you say, black them out.
