Hello all, here is a little side project of mime i have bean working on for a few months.

In this ROV we have three hulls

Main hull 1: Arduino nano talking to 3 motor controllers, one servo for IP camera tilt and 9w of on board lighting.
on the I2c Bus we have HS5803-14BA depth sensor and HMC5883L Digital Compass.

battery hulls 2 and 3: Eight 18650 cells providing loads of power.

Im using a Axiom Memory - C6BFSB-Y100-AX - Axiom Ultra-Thin Snagless Patch Cable - Category 6 to pass data from top side to the ROV.

I have used rj45 pin out t568b as my standard pins 1,2,3 and 6 are being utilized as normal Ethernet data but pins 4,5,8 are being used as serial communication between the top side Arduino and the Arduino in the ROV.

on the Top side: I have a PlayStation 2 controller wired into the Arduino for user commands with an attached an 16x2 Character LCD for ROV feed back.

I just about used the complete electronics package from techmonkeybusiness.com

As you can see i still need to com up with an end cap solution. I was disappointed to find out that 3D printed end caps do not work i was hoping to find a secondhand lathe but now it looks like i will be laser cutting acrylic end caps from ponoko.com and assembling them like the openrov.

this is the almost finished.....
top side battery for the controller/arduino also we can pass along Ethernet data for a laptop to see the ip camera.

Im waiting for one for connector to come in so i can plug and unplug the controller.
