Hi new to forum. been looking thru threads for days but still need some help. building first rov. i am thinking about using gopro for first person view on rov due to the availability of them and info out there. i plan on having wired up to surface but not sure if bus connector , 10 pinn, or hdmi is the way to go. to get video back to either android pad or other small monitor. which gopro model is best for around $200 used. probably 150 feet at most on cord
plan on using arduino with xbox controller to control rov

Look into SJCAM. They make good Go Pro like cameras which are much cheaper and have live feed over cable. I have an SJ4000. Make sure you get a real SJCAM since there are many knockoffs some of which cannot live feed.

With SD and cat5 (one twisted pair) you can use video baluns and get several hundred feet of transmission. I'll be doing 100 meters with passive baluns. Not sure about HD options yet.

HDMI is only good for a very short distance (5 m or so). For a HD live feed from the GoPro you would need to convert the HDMI to SDI and transmit over high bandwidth coaxial.
