Props - LH or RH?

Post by Louis_Cha »

Hello all!

Lately I've been assembling my motors/propellors and wondered whether there is any effect of LH or RH pitch propellors?

On my ROV I have 2 horizontal, forward and turning thrusters, both currently with RH props. Would it work better with a LH prop of the left, and a RH prop on the right? Has anyone tested this?

I put a LH on one side and RH on the other to reduce torque turning effects. Counter rotating props solve this.

I agree and it doesn't matter which side you put which on.
As long as they are used together.

Also, shouldn't the horizontal thrusters spin in opposite directions? I.e. left thruster spins clockwise with a right handed prop and the right thruster spins counter-clockwise with a left handed prop.
