my rov version 2

Post by manip »

Hi just want to show my little project, i have been working on it for some mounth now, and i am close to the end, done testing now and got it to be wery close to neutraly bouany.

lights and camera will go in it soon,

I am very happy with the result, it moves very well. my next step is to make the controle system with an arduino, right now all is connected thru relays
but i am new to Arduino, so that might take longer than building the thing, so hoping to be able to share some with others working with arduino in here.

I was thinking of making it round also, but then i did not have enough space to mount the trusters,
but i am happy that i went this way, and it gave me more room inside

wow, very cool!

You'll find no shortage of people to help with control systems here.

If you post the general idea how you want to do it, I'm sure some people will chime in.

Do you plan to use a laptop or just an Arduino at each end (topside/onboard)? Will you use a joystick or gamepad or some kind of control system you build yourself? What kind of video will you have topside? How about telemetry, will there be any?

as I said I have newer worked with arduino,
i am thinking of a pc topside with a joystick or joypad and an arduino with motor shields in the ROV, but i am still not shure how to do it, or if it's possible. this microcontroller thing is all new to me, i am a mecanical person

I'm thinking the reason no one is responding on this is because it's such a hugely broad topic and the direction is entirely up to you.

My suggestion is: If you have a general idea or someone else's model looks like something you'd like to emulate, start a specific thread in the appropriate forum area. In this section people generally post about things they've already done, not what they want help with.
