low current brushless

Post by Domes »

Powering brush less motors takes huge amounts of current and can only seem to find 10a plus motors which gives me about 10 mins thrusts. How can I overcome this?

Or does anyone know where to buy low current brush less motors?

if you look at the "draw, thrust, and components" thread you will find several motors that while they CAN draw plenty of amps, also make ample thrust at lower current levels.

I just tested a turnigy dst700 with a graupner prop and got 2.5lbs of thrust at 6amps. It would draw more than that at higher throttle levels, but I only allow for 6amps for each thruster.

Also bear in mind that you are generally not maxing out your throttle levels, you tend to do more slow speed maneuvering than high speed trolling.
