Thinking big. Anyone look at using Sevylor 12V Electric Trolling Motor? 18lbs of thrust, cannot find the amp draw? What is the thrust to size ratio for an ROV.

There's no fixed thrust to size ratio that you need to follow but you can calculate your top speed using the equation
D=(1/2)CpAv^2 where D is drag force, C is drag coefficient, p is density of water, A is surface area, and v is velocity.
Set D equal to your maximum thrust force and solve for v using the frontal surface area of your ROV and the drag coefficient for the shape to find your top speed. Or pick a top speed and drag coefficient and solve for A to find to find your maximum surface area of the front of your ROV.
