I am very new and have a low budget and was wondering if a brushed motor wll work underwater out of the box? Or would something else need to be done?

Thanks

@joey1222,
You will be better off using a brushless motor as it will work in both fresh and saltwater until the bearings seize up or the windings become damaged. A brushed motor will definitely not run in salt water, though they can run in freshwater, but you will have trouble with the motor bushings deteriorating in any kind of water.

What if you soaked the motor in WD40 or something similar? Would that work in salt water?
