Hi Guys, these ESC's http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... verse.html are well suited for your needs. They "reverse" at around 85% of the forward max RPM. Many of the boat ESC's only reverse at 15% to 20% of their forward max RPM.

Thanks Biker, I was trying to remember who here on the forum was using these :) the manual even says 100% for reverse.

They indeed could be 100% in reverse. I know they work and work well.

Most ESC need two reverse signals, the first brakes the motor and the other one reverse it. If you fin a esc with rock-crawler mode you can put the motor in instant reverse, this will ease the programming a bit.

Here's the manual: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... 509X21.pdf It looks like mode "two" might be promising. Mode "two2" looks like what you were talking about with the brake.

Yep that's it. Jogged my memory when I read the manual. Works exactly as described. Lets just say that the transition from full forward to full reverse happens fast enough it does not compromise the full effect of control. People have to remember that we operate in a fluid and a few millisecond pause on thruster direct will have no ill effect on performance.

I wonder where they got "two2" I guess it takes real creativity not to use "three"
