Think I'll be going for a magnetic coupler to get the depth i want.

Question, what kinda materials can i use so the magnets wont "f*ck" up? Cheap and easy to get? For the plate, the housing and the magnetic couplers? Got any great tips people?:)

The rods i have ordered from ebay, 4mm stainless steel rods. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/270762356902?ss ... 1497.l2648)

Thanks for rod link. You could buy commercially-made couplers to suit just about any shaft size. https://sdp-si.com/eStore/Catalog/Group/1030. You can be a bit cunning and make the couplers and the rest of the thruster other ways, or I see a lathe on your shopping list :o . Plenty of mag-coupled ROV examples on the net - just search. Here's one I prepared earlier viewtopic.php?f=3&t=943&p=5389&hilit=magnetic#p5389

Thank you for the compliment Ross, I am considering selling the thruster eventually, but want to make sure the design is right first ;)

Hello Again! :D

Wondered, if anyone can check my site: http://www.tjweb.no/rov-thrusters-magnetic-couplers/

Will that design and solution work?
