Hi all
I've been working away on my ROV over on http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthre ... 054&page=7. Just thought I'd post a link to it as I already had that thread running when I discovered this forum, otherwise I would have had the thread here on homebuiltrovs.
Activity over there is almost non existent but hopefully someone here might get some ideas from the thread.
Cheers Rob

Looks really sharp! Like the vectored thrust arrangement!
Have you had it in the water yet?

Re: Rob's ROV
Thanks,
No not been in for any action yet other than the wheelie bin tests for buoyancy, hope to get some real life testing done soon, I've a mini SD video recorder on order so should be able to record any action.

Very impressive your project. What kind of glands or penetrators you have used to connect the cables to the hull?

Sorry I missed your question, jconduto wrote:Very impressive your project. What kind of glands or penetrators you have used to connect the cables to the hull?
I have fed the connectors through the rear bulk head, motor wire feed throughs described here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost ... stcount=65
And the umbilical described here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost ... stcount=71
I have changed from the single buoyancy chamber on top to two as shown here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost ... stcount=98, this had made it more stable in testing.
Re: Rob's ROV
Added picture of ROV to this thread to save everyone from having to jump over to other forum, I have received my sd card video recorder and hope to get this into the control box this week then I'll try and get some real world testing done.
