ROV from Croatia

Post by gumma »

Greetings!

Finally i have some time to introduce homebuiltrovs society with my project. I'm building it for almost 2 years, and finally i can see the light at the end of the tunnel :) Some basic info:
- 2 horizontal and one vertical thruster made of brushless motors
- 2 onboard 12V 7Ah batteries
- arduino Duemillanove inside ROV connected to laptop via rs485, controlled with USB gamepad
- pressure (and depth) sensor + temperature sensor
- Processing application for motor control and sensor readings
- one camera connected to laptop via 2 video baluns
- teether: 4 wires striped of cat5 cable

The controlling software is done (arduino + processing), the sensors are parametered, the only things to do are to make a float with hole for vertical thruster and pot the teether and motor wires. I hope i will explore Adriatic Sea depth this summer.
I posted motor control video before: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzpznVA ... ature=mhee

Interesting concept. What depth do you like to reach? Keep rolling, summer is coming soon…
I’d like to explore Istria shelf water also this summer. When I will see under there you epoxy beauty, I will know, with whom I have the honor ;)

I'm blushing :) !
I'm planning to reach minimum of 50 m, i have 100m teether so far, the hull should persist 5-6 bars according to my "calculations". There's a lot of hidden treasures downunder i hope i will find some!
