I think I will also paint all the wires with liquid electrical tape and then heat shrink the whole lot from base of barb and 10 cm of wires. It seems silicon shielded wire is the hardest to glue, seal properly. Sil-poxy works well but have not tried bonding with brass. Will rough up the surface first.
We use the below for rc modeling. The gun tips are great if you need to fill a cavity from bottom up. You can get all the different glues for the cartridge system. Glue mixes in orger within tip. Great to work with in tight spots like long tubes You can get long tips.
hysol is the structural glue. You can make fillets and do basic machining. Not sure if it sticks well to plastic.
Some hobby shops do starter kits, best way to show the gun system.

I ended up choosing that option. I used transparent AB epoxy and a PVC house socket to interfact with the hull.olegodo wrote:I will be using the same solution.

good to know. I suggested laminating resin as it is a 2 part and is thinner so better chance of getting into fill everything. When you heat it up it goes like water.
I was thinking about the water housing. If the cap is mounted and plumbed up access will be via the tube part so is the plan to make a tray that comes off the inside of the cap so things can be mounted/wired?

That is correct
Inside there will be a tray that is mounted to the cap. All the el components will be mounted on top of the tray and the batteries under the tray.
I haven't gotten that far yet, but the plan is to do it like that.

I had a look at the water filter container but not big enough for my batteries.
These are very robust and come with a tray. Very thick ABS plastic and a clamp system that goes around cap/oring area.

The FO housing is interesting. Wonder how rigid the end section is? The cylindrical part could be beefed-up from the inside for greater depth.

they are very solid. I would be surprised if any beefing up would be required for normal hobby ROV use

Battery is coming together... It's a little "hackish" but hard to make it pretty with the very limited space inside the WTC aka filter housing.
6 x 5000mah 4s lipos in parallel.
Have mounted them to an aluminum backbone/rail and made wiring harnesses to connect them all together.
I have made it so that the battery slides on to the frame inside the housing on my ROV.
Just align it from the back and slide it forwards so that it slots in to place. Stays perfectly secure.
I didn't want to remove the original connectors from the batteries so i kept them on.
The harness has HXT connectors in one end for the batteries and two XT90 connectors in the ROV end. One for positive only and one for negative. These should give plenty of headroom when it comes to amp draw.
I now need to secure all the wires to the batteries and clean it up in the end.
