Re: Laser Cut ROV Project
have you used a camera housing before? if so what kind of luck have you had with it? would you build a small frame around it to mount the equipment and use the dry cell section for camera and electronics only, just having the wire penetrations to a minimum?
Re: Laser Cut ROV Project
This is my first time with everything ROV, the camera housing is rated for 200' so Im guessing I will not have a problem with water penetration on 50-60ft. I will make a separate housing for the ESCs though.sprayed150 wrote:have you used a camera housing before? if so what kind of luck have you had with it? would you build a small frame around it to mount the equipment and use the dry cell section for camera and electronics only, just having the wire penetrations to a minimum?
Re: Laser Cut ROV Project
Got the motors, ESCs, Props, Dive flashlight, gripper this week, Im only waiting on the camera housing.
The flashlight is rated 1200lm and is only 1 mode, I will have 2 of this wired to a RC switch, they have 3 orings. $7 each. Not bad. The gripper will require some modification to make it waterproof.

Re: Laser Cut ROV Project
Received the first camera housing today, I like it, is a little heavy but works excellent so far, I played with all the knobs and no water came in, I will be sealing them anyway and only leave 3 for wiring to come out, but this thing is strong and very well made. I might need to redesign the motor mount frame too, to fit this housing.
