Hello from Greece

Post by dtrip »

Hello, my name is Dimitris, Im a computer science teacher in highschool in Santorini, Greece.
Im 42 yo and never got my hands on a microcontroller, although Ive always wanted to.

Having been blown away by homemade videos of underwater ROVs guided by
playstation joysticks (!), I decided that this time I have no excuse not to go micro-controller crazy
and build a ROV myself! Im not interested in depth, but instead interested in everything else.
Cameras, headlights, leak detection, thrusters of course, etc. The more the merrier :)

The first thing to do is use an Arduino to drive a brushless motor. And also water-proof this motor.
I have many of the things required, because of my past with RC airplanes.

Well, thats it for now, I wish everyone a success in whatever they are doing and I hope to be able
to help someone one day, just like this forum has already helped me a lot.

Welcome Dimitris! Hope you will enjoy it here and complete your build. I get a feeling a ROV build is never complete thou, but enough to get your feet wet then!
