this is my first post in this great forum.
After I made the first dives, I would like to show you my ROV project because this site and forum helped me to realize this project.
Some data:
- 2 vertical thrusters brushless each 220 W 740 rpm/V
- 2 horizontal thrusters brushless each 220 W 740 rpm/V
- controlled by Arduino Mega via RS485
- GoPro HD Hero camera with live out
- tether is 6*0,14mm² length: 50 metres
- sensors: 3 x temperature (water, controller, ESCs), water pressure, motor current (comming soon), IMU (comming soon)
- 12 V 16 Ah NiMh batteries
- 2x LED 3W dimmable

There is still a lot of work.
ToDo list:
- make the tether neutral bouyant
- build a better tether transport system
- implement all sensors
- ....

Very cool videos, I missed this post the first time around I gotta find some time to check out your blog I wanna see what this Rov looks like. It looks like it works great though... Nice work.

Just had a quick chance to browse your site and the Rov looks great. What did you use for the flotation blocks? (info might be on there and I just missed it)
I like the 3d printed props... I'm getting ready to order myself a printer in the next few weeks, it will be a learning curve but I can hardly wait.
The fails section is funny too, I can relate to fixing electronics with "If it doesn't work smash it a few times method".

The floatation Blocks are made of polyurethane foam. I coated th foam with one layer GRP to make them stronger. It works pretty good. The floatation for the Tether is made of micro glassbubbles with epoxy.
