Re: Magnetic coupling Thruster design (Some big challenges!)
Thanks for your appreciation.
In the videos these brushless were used http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh ... oduct=8474
but in our actual models we only use these ones: Robbe 2827/34 Outrunner

Nice. What kind of esc Motor controllers did you use on the final project?
how many of you where on the team that made the rov?

Now we use Robbe Roxxy controller. They have a very good control and adjustment for the settings.
Re: Magnetic coupling Thruster design (Some big challenges!)
Brilliant. Are they reversible?

Of course. There is no other possibility to turn the direction

Thought you might be interested in our line of magnetic couplers. The inner hub is from 316 stainless and the high energy rare earth magnets are hermetically sealed from seawater.

We have sold quite a few of these to both home build and industrial clients.

We supply small magnetic couplings that can be used in thrusters. The inner magnetic assembly (from 300 series stainless)is hermetically sealed and fully potted for high pressure. Please see our website

I am currently working on a magnetic coupled motor. The drive shaft contains the permanent magnet fields and fits inside a water proof electro-magnetic control field. Just in the "yellow pad" stages at this point.
