Brushless ESC control question
Brushless ESC control question
So I would like to use brushless DC motors and I know I need to use a brushless ESC. What is the simplest way to control this set up? I know relays will not work and I would rather not get in to programming anything so I was considering Rheostats, anyone have any idea if this will work?

Re: Brushless ESC control question
No, rheostats will not work.
An ESC requires a pwm (pulse width modulated) signal as an input.
If you want to stay away from having to program things probably the simplest option is to use an rc transmitter with a trainer port, a ppm to pwm converter or a dsc equipped rc receiver, and a two wire tether to connect the two.

Thanks, I'll look in to that. This is the weak part of my rov game...actually this is my first rov so its all pretty weak. Ha Ha

Agree with Steve's suggestion as a simple full control system, but you can connect a servo tester to your ESC (simulates the signals coming out of an RC receiver)
