It will probably have a single camera in the middle or maybe even two cameras on the edges for stereo or a wide angle view. If there is a compass it will just be a low tech diver compass in front of the camera. This Rov was meant to be pretty basic, just as a way for someone to get there feet wet in the hobby.

I'm basing my rov on this design and I have a couple of questions about the tether:

1. what size poly line did you use for your tether?
2. how many and what type of wires are in the tether?
3. how much extra flotation did you need to add?

thanks again!

I think I used 5/16" (but I'll have to double check)

I have one pair of 16 gauge wire for main power, One cat5e (I stripped the outer jacket off to save weight) and one set of AV cables for the camera or (cameras I haven't decide yet.)

I'm still working on the flotation part (I have a few things to test out still)

Thanks!

I found some 3/8" at the hardware store that I'm going to attempt to use. I will be running 3 pairs of 18 gauge speaker wire in it.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to build the tether this weekend.
