Telephone wire
For running power to thrusters, does telephone wire work? Its cheap and very thin and light, and I am willing to thread it all through a protective case, but would it work?

I think you will find that telephone wire is a bit to small to run the power required for motors. It may work for a short test (<15sec) but you are likely to melt the wires should you run any longer.

Re: Telephone wire
I am running brushless motors, which require 3 wires for each motor. I have a cheap extension cord lying around that I plan on using. That gave me the length of cable I needed to create the leads for my motors, and all three wires are in a nice little package!
